Exfoliating skincare is one of the cornerstones of a well-structured routine: it removes dead skin cells, evens out skin texture, and prepares the skin surface to better absorb subsequent products. It is not an optional step, but a moment of renewal that, if chosen carefully, makes a visible difference. How to choose the right exfoliating product for you

The first criterion is skin type: sensitive or reactive skin benefits from chemical exfoliants based on low-concentration acids, such as AHA or PHA, which work gradually without mechanical friction. Oily skin or skin with irregular texture can benefit from formulations based on BHA, such as salicylic acid, which also work inside the pore. A common mistake is to exfoliate too frequently: in most cases, two or three applications a week are sufficient. Using an exfoliant every day, especially if mechanical, can compromise the skin barrier and cause redness or dryness. Equally important is to pair a good moisturizer after treatment and, during the day, adequate sun protection, as freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to UV rays. Also consider the format: gel, cream, powder, mask, or pre-soaked pads cater to different needs and usage habits.
