Etat libre d'orange

Etat Libre d'Orange is a niche perfume house founded in Paris in 2006 by Etienne de Swardt. The name pays homage to the founder's birthplace — the Orange Free State in South Africa, a region of rugged nature, intense colors, and unforgettable scents — and captures its spirit: independence, contrast, uncompromising freedom. The house has built its identity around a distinctly unconventional approach to perfumery: gender-free fragrances, olfactory compositions that embrace irony and provocation, titles that shake conventions. Selected raw materials, no creative limits imposed on the perfumers it collaborates with, and deliberately uniform bottles that let the content take center stage. A coherent aesthetic, elegant in its subversion.

The Etat Libre d'Orange selection on Qathu

The 48 items from the brand available on Qathu predominantly belong to the world of artistic perfumery: eau de parfum and discovery formats that represent the heart of the house's production. The selection covers the entire olfactory range offered by the brand — from the most intense and sensual compositions to the more airy and unexpected ones — designed for those who see perfume as an act of personal expression, not just a simple scent note. To navigate, it is helpful to start with the character you want to wear: each fragrance tells something specific, and rarely disappoints those seeking originality.

Scroll through the selection, let yourself be surprised by the titles and, above all, by the fragrances that inhabit them.
